Guyana’s landmark global sports event, the ExxonMobil Guyana Global Super League (GSL), will be celebrating cricket’s central role in Guyanese culture with the “Super We” campaign.
From the GSL trophy - inspired by the majestic Kaieteur Falls, one of Guyana’s most iconic natural wonders - to the electrifying crowds at the National Stadium, the ExxonMobil Guyana Global Super League is unmistakably Guyanese at its core. The tournament brings together the country’s deep love for cricket with the rich cultural diversity and vibrant spirit that make Guyana unique.
“Super We” explores cricket’s powerful role as a unifying force for the Guyanese people - a shared passion that transcends backgrounds and communities while reflecting the pride, energy, and ambition of a nation on the rise. At the same time, it captures Guyana’s growing global outlook, showcasing a homegrown event with international reach and aspirations.
The love for cricket is a unifying force and in the ExxonMobil Guyana GSL the country has a major annual cricket event of its own. GSL is a homegrown event that seeks to engage the world. It is a celebration of Guyana’s love for cricket and of Guyana’s proud rise on the world stage. Produced by local agency Ogle & Stone, in line with the GSL mission of promoting Guyanese talent, the campaign seeks to be a celebration of who WE are.
President of the Co-operative Republic of Guyana Dr Irfaan Ali had this to say about the “Super We.” Initiative.
“The Super We campaign goes beyond statistics, trophies and scorecards to celebrate the enduring cultural soul of cricket and the sacred place it holds in the hearts, history and imagination of the people of Guyana and the wider Caribbean.”
ExxonMobil Guyana President & General Manager Alistair Routledge added:
“We’re proud to welcome the third edition of the ExxonMobil Guyana Global Super League. The Super We campaign highlights how the tournament celebrates Guyana’s deep love of cricket, attracting world-class talent and growing sports tourism in the country.”
GSL Chairman & Cricket Legend Sir Clive Lloyd spoke passionately of Guyana’s deep love for the sport:
“Cricket is part of who WE are, and this campaign seeks to celebrate the love of the game. Let us come together and show the world who WE are as a people. SUPER LEAGUE. SUPER WE.”
